Wang gets chance to clip Orioles

Despite owning a 1-0 record against the Orioles this season, Chien-Ming Wang has been tagged by Baltimore in his first two starts against them this year, allowing the Birds to bat .383 -- the second-highest team batting average against the Yankees hurler.

Wang hopes his third start against Baltimore is the charm, as the 27-year-old and the Bombers, tied with the Mariners atop the American League Wild Card race and four games behind the Red Sox in the AL East, face the Orioles on Monday at Yankee Stadium.

The right-hander is 7-4 at home and his 2.77 ERA there ranks fourth in the American League. Along those same lines, Wang has 18 wins in 28 starts at Yankee Stadium since the start of the 2006 season, the most home wins of any Major League pitcher.

Taking the hill for the Orioles will be Jeremy Guthrie, who has compiled a career 1-0 record and a 2.51 ERA against the Yanks.
